Job summary

KOPI RECRUIT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Full-Stack AI Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable web applications with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled development and AI integration across the stack.

You will own end-to-end development across frontend and backend—React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL—and apply secure coding, CI/CD, testing, and observability to deliver production-grade features.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack application development.
• Proficiency with Git, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience taking applications from requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end application development across frontend, backend, database, AI integration, testing, and deployment.
• Design and develop responsive and maintainable applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Develop secure and scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and data models using database-as-code practices.
• Use AI coding assistants and agents effectively for development, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation while ensuring generated code is reviewed and validated.
• Develop AI-enabled application features through integration with LLMs and Generative AI APIs, including structured outputs, tool/function calling, RAG, and agentic workflows where applicable.
• Develop automated tests and proactively identify and resolve defects.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, database migration, and deployment.
• Apply secure development practices covering authentication, authorization, API security, secrets, data protection, and AI-specific security risks.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI and software engineering technologies to improve developer productivity and application capabilities.

The Full-Stack AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining secure and scalable web applications, with a strong focus onAI-enabled development and AI application integration. The role requires strong full-stack engineering capabilities acrossReact, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, modern AI coding tools, database-as-code, cloud, and DevOps practices.

• Own end-to-end application development across frontend, backend, database, AI integration, testing, and deployment.

Experience and Skills Needed

Full-Stack Development

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack application development.
• Strong proficiency withGit, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience taking applications or features from requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

Frontend Technologies

• Fluent inReact.js and Next.js.
• Strong proficiency inTypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience with component and styling frameworks such asTailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, or equivalent.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, frontend performance, and modern React/Next.js architecture.

Backend Technologies

• Fluent inNode.js, with experience in frameworks such as Express.js.
• Strong experience designing and developingRESTful APIs.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, integration services, and secure API development.
• Knowledge of GraphQL, WebSockets, or gRPC is advantageous.

PostgreSQL & Database-as-Code

• Strong proficiency withPostgreSQL, relational data modelling, SQL, indexing, and query optimisation.
• Experience managing database schemas and migrations usingdatabase-as-codeprinciples.
• Experience with ORM/database tools such asPrisma, Drizzle ORM, TypeORM, or equivalent.
• Understanding of database version control and automated deployment strategies.

AI Coding & Development

• Proven practical experience usingAI coding assistants or coding agentssuch as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or equivalent.
• Ability to use AI effectively for coding, prototyping, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Experience reviewing, testing, and securing AI-generated code before production use.
• Experience integrating applications withLLM/Generative AI servicessuch as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of AI application patterns such asprompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and AI agentsis advantageous.

DevOps, Cloud & Observability

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines onGitLab (SGTS).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such asAWS (GCC).
• Experience with application logging, monitoring, error tracking, and observability tools.
• Understanding of containerisation and infrastructure-as-code is advantageous.

Preferred Profile

A hands‑on engineer who combinesstrong full-stack engineering fundamentals with AI-native development practices(at least 5 years' experience). The candidate should be comfortable rapidly building applications usingReact/Next.js, Node.js and PostgreSQL, extensively leveraging AI coding tools while maintaining appropriate standards for architecture, security, testing, and maintainability.
