Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Join an inclusive team passionate about innovation, leveraging expertise to develop solutions ranging from virtual reality experiences to neural network breakthroughs. We are committed to integrity, sustainability, and community engagement, fueling our pursuit of innovation.

As a Satellite Planning Engineer, you will collaborate with central and site stakeholders to conduct strategic scenario and capital planning analysis. You will play a key role in the Fab Scenario Optimization Study, Business Plan, Supply Chain, and processes such as Sales and Operations Planning (SnOP) and Model of Record (MOR).

You will work with site industrial engineers, inventory control, NPI, and finance teams to ensure alignment on fab loading commitments, capabilities, pilot line plans, wafer costs, and business proposals.

This role demands excellent strategic planning skills and creativity in applying various methodologies for optimal study (sweet spot study). Candidates with experience in capacity planning and analytical thinking will be highly valued.

Job Description

This position requires strong strategic planning, analysis, and creativity to determine optimal loading, capex efficiency, and conduct sweet spot studies. Your ability to analyze data, understand market conditions, and develop loading plans that meet market share, capital, and inventory goals will be essential for supporting management decisions and driving business success.

You should have a deep understanding of capacity planning, business processes, and opportunities for scenario loading and capital optimization. Involvement in automation projects to streamline operations and reduce manual errors is also expected.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  1. [Scenario]
  • Apply optimization techniques to ensure optimal loading volumes across horizons, meeting targets while considering milestone and ramp planning.
  • Model capacity thresholds supporting current and future technologies.
  • Analyze scenario options, identify opportunities, and propose improvements for better returns.
  • Collaborate with central teams on capacity planning for future products and capital impact.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to explain tooling and capital impact relationships.
  • Provide Cost of Transition (CoT) estimates for each technode and analyze discrepancies between theoretical and actual CoT.
  • Define new technode CoT and understand budget vs. actual capex gaps.
  • Adhere to business planning schedules and be adaptable to changes.
  • Coordinate parameter updates with stakeholders for quarterly planning.
  • Maintain and update Satellite Sharepoint documentation.
  • Automate tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Manage complex projects across departments and sites.
  • Oversee databases, scenario ownership, and change control processes.
  • Analyze data to support financial decision-making.
  1. [Capital]
  • Analyze baseline capital spend to maintain neutral cash flow unless driven by loading changes.
  • Enhance forecast accuracy with site teams.
  • Monitor actual vs. projected spend, targeting variance of less than ±5%.
  • Investigate reasons for unexpected capital spend changes with stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate planning and data in Capital Asset Lifecycle Management (CALM).
  • Identify opportunities for cash flow savings.
  • Track technode capex and ensure alignment with approval targets.
  • Coordinate CALM simulations to meet timelines and objectives.
  • Develop dashboards for automated visualization of capital expenditure data.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in semiconductor capacity planning or strategic planning preferred.
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficient in data analysis, problem solving, and validation.
  • Skilled in reporting, dashboard development (Tableau, Power BI), and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and programming is a plus.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and independent work skills.
