Job summary

A leading logistics company is seeking an experienced logistics professional in Singapore. The role requires managing cargo bookings, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely communication with customers and stakeholders. Candidates should have a strong logistics background and advanced skills in Excel, with proficiency in Mandarin being a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in logistics.
  • Advanced Excel skills required for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in Mandarin is beneficial for liaising with overseas stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for bookings of cargo with airlines and monitoring shipment statuses.
  • Prepare analysis reports for decision-making and maintain internal KPIs.
  • Serve as backup to internal support and handle ad-hoc functions as needed.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bookings of cargo with airlines.
  • Explore systems, understand and prepare analysis reports and commentary wider team & stakeholders to make better business decisions.
  • Monitor shipments status and update customers timely and effectively.
  • Demonstrate and employ a high degree of detail and focus on every job.
  • Serve as backup to internal support group.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely tracking status accuracy and schedules for all jobs.
  • Maintaining internal/external KPIs and SOPs to meet customer requirements.
  • Any other ad-hoc additional functions mandated by Management.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in logistics industry.
  • Proven experience in negotiating freight rates with carriers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment.
  • Advanced Excel – build base data tables and use it to create pivot tables, graphs, utilize formulas.
  • Knowledge of Import/Export regulations and documents.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Understanding of profitability and loss and how to plan to drive growth.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Coordinate with overseas and local branch for operation and rate issues.
  • Required to liaise with Mandarin speaking stakeholders from overseas, proficient in Mandarin will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
