TutorJohn Learning Centre in Singapore is seeking a freelance video editor to plan, film and produce engaging short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook. You will work from concept through delivery, coordinating with tutors and students and delivering videos on-brand and on-time.
You will edit with CapCut Pro, adding subtitles, overlays, transitions and basic graphics, ensuring platform-ready exports. On-site filming is required as needed.
Plan creative and engaging short-form video content for TutorJohn Learning Centre’s TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook platforms
Develop video concepts, scripts, hooks, shot lists and filming plans based on the content brief
Film and direct educational, promotional and entertaining content featuring tutors and students
Capture sufficient, well-organised footage during each filming session to produce approximately 3-4 videos
Edit videos using CapCut Pro, including transitions, subtitles, text overlays, graphics, sound effects and basic visual effects
Ensure that videos are properly formatted and exported for the relevant social media platforms
Follow TutorJohn’s preferred branding, pacing, subtitle format and editing style
Make reasonable revisions based on feedback
Organise and manage raw footage and completed video files clearly
Suggest fresh content ideas and improvements based on current social media trends and video performance
Able to manage the complete video-production process, from initial concept and planning to filming and final delivery
Comfortable working independently while communicating clearly with our team
Able to understand a content brief and turn it into an engaging, polished video
Reliable, punctual and able to meet agreed filming and submission deadlines
Receptive to feedback and willing to refine videos when necessary
Able to maintain a consistent editing style across multiple videos
Understands how to capture attention within the first few seconds of a short-form video
Able to create videos that appeal to both parents and students
Comfortable working on a per-video or batch-project basis
Available to film on-site at our learning centre when required
Proficient in CapCut Pro
Strong short-form video editing skills, particularly for TikTok and Instagram Reels
Able to add accurate subtitles, engaging text overlays, transitions, sound effects and basic graphics
Able to plan, film and edit videos—not solely perform video editing
Good understanding of video composition, lighting, audio quality and camera angles
Able to produce clean, engaging and professionally finished videos
Able to provide a portfolio or samples of previously completed short-form videos
Good communication skills and a responsible attitude towards deadlines
Based in Singapore and able to travel to our learning centre for filming sessions
Experience producing content for education, enrichment, tuition or youth-related organisations
Familiarity with current TikTok, Instagram and short-form content trends
Experience directing people who may not be professionally trained on camera
Able to develop creative concepts and scripts instead of relying entirely on detailed instructions
Basic knowledge of social media marketing, content strategy and audience engagement
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop or other creative software is an advantage
Comfortable working around students and maintaining a professional environment
Approximately $200 per completed video
The rate covers pre-production planning, filming and post-production editing
Filming will generally be planned in batches, with each filming session producing enough footage for approximately 3-4 videos
Each completed video will generally be up to 2 minutes long
The final rate may vary depending on the video’s duration, filming requirements, editing complexity, graphics, effects and subtitle requirements
Reasonable revisions based on the agreed brief should be included
Successful freelancers may be offered regular batches of work and opportunities to take on broader content or marketing responsibilities
