Role Overview
We are looking for a Freelance Food Safety Auditor to conduct independent food safety and hygiene audits across manufacturing, processing, and food service facilities. You will assess compliance with regulatory standards, company protocols, and internationally recognized certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct food safety audits and hygiene inspections at client sites according to established protocols and standards.
- Evaluate food handling practices, sanitation programs, pest control measures, and hazard management systems.
- Identify non-conformities and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, risk levels, and improvement suggestions.
- Support clients in achieving and maintaining certification to HACCP and other food safety management systems.
- Stay updated with changes in local food regulations (e.g., SFA guidelines) and global food safety standards.
- May be required to assist in developing or reviewing food safety plans and SOPs for clients.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in food safety auditing, quality assurance, or hygiene management.
- HACCP-certified (Level 3 or above); ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 auditing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and travel locally or regionally as needed.
- Prior experience with third-party auditing or consultancy is an added advantage.
