Job Title: Fractional CFO (Gaming Industry / Convertible to full-time)

Company Overview: Our client is a privately-owned game development and publishing studio, founded in 2017 by a seasoned industry veteran. With over USD 652K privately invested into development, the company is preparing to launch its first PC game in South Korea in August 2025, with several additional titles in the pipeline targeting regional markets.

The team is currently operating fully remotely, with plans to establish a physical office in Singapore around Q3 2026.

Role Overview: This is Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position is ideal for an experienced finance leader who enjoys working in dynamic, high-growth industries like gaming and is seeking flexible engagement with long-term potential.

You will oversee the company’s financial planning, fundraising strategy, budgeting, and overall fiscal health. This role comes with the opportunity to transition into a full-time CFO role in 2026, depending on the financial performance of the company’s game launches.

The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of finance at both the strategic and operational levels and can evolve with the company through its next growth stage.

Ideal Candidate: This role would suit a semi-retired finance leader, a portfolio CFO, or a consultant seeking long-term partnership in a visionary gaming studio with strong growth prospects. It offers a rare opportunity to join a company at a strategic inflection point and share in the upside of a successful product launch and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning aligned with product release timelines

  • Manage cash flow, investor reporting, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Develop and implement a performance-driven financial model for the studio’s upcoming game launches

  • Support fundraising efforts, including potential investor relations and pitch preparation

  • Advise on monetization strategies, cost control, and margin optimization

  • Collaborate with the CEO and other C-suite stakeholders to align financial goals with business development targets

  • Set up finance infrastructure, compliance processes, and reporting systems in preparation for Singapore office setup targeting mid of 2026.

Requirements:

  • 15–20+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, etc.), ideally in gaming, tech, media, or entertainment sectors.

  • Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning

  • Proven ability to scale finance functions in startups or high-growth environments

  • Experience in fundraising, equity planning, and managing stakeholder relationships

  • Previous exposure to Asia-Pacific markets; understanding of North American or South Korean market dynamics is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and commit to part-time hours with flexibility

  • Familiarity with game development economics, digital product monetization, and entertainment finance is a strong advantage
