Job description
Overview

The Global FP&A Senior Analyst will provide stakeholders with relevant financial data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions, and will work closely with the FP&A Manager to develop and implement strategies across the division.

In addition to the above, the Global FP&A Senior Analyst is in charge of maintaining the EPBCS Oracle module; working with IT to ensure it is working. The position will also need to ensure that all global reports are up to date with the latest cost accounting requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Monthly Financial Reporting
    • Provision of timely and reliable information to budget holders to aid their decision-making process and to achieve month-end reporting timetables for global finance
    • Analysis of monthly I&E reports, including variances between actual and budget. Proactive monitoring of financial performance and recommendations for improvements.
    • Present financial results to Chief Officers and provide support to business decisions.
    • Ensure correct coding of I&E entries
    • Prepare monthly income and expense accruals
    • Obtain and review non-financial data which supports the financial information
    • Identify gaps in the business to stakeholders
  • Monthly Forecast
    • Develop monthly forecast projections through analysis and risk assessment of business units.
    • Provide timely and accurate forecast information to global finance in line with reporting timetables.
  • Reporting and Analytical Tools
    • Provide analytical reports to budget holders and FP&A on a timely basis to inform decision-making.
    • Analyze data for plan presentations to senior stakeholders and Chief Officers.
    • Be a key user of the Oracle EPBCS module
    • Guide and mentor junior analysts.
  • Accountability
    • Provide timely and reliable information for budgeting submission
    • Work with budget holders and provide constructive financial advice to complete their annual plans
    • Develop an accurate forecast for review
    • Ensure all plans are submitted timely and accurately
    • Prepare accurate forecasts with budget holders
    • Suggest initiatives to improve efficiency of processes and workflows
  • Support for IB Project Teams
    • Provide Strategy Team with financial data and analysis to support IB Strategy works
    • Provide IB project teams with financial data and analysis to support evaluation of new projects
    • Ensure business clarity on requirements and reasons for applying a consistent set of metrics
    • Provide information to project managers as necessary
About you
  • Degree or equivalent in accounting, business or finance preferred
  • Proven experience in the finance area
  • Experience using Oracle and Smartview preferred but not required
  • Ability to meet objectives and deadlines while handling multiple tasks and to work with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of administrative systems and experience developing processes to meet organizational requirements, such as optimizing the use of technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, with individuals from across the organisation
  • Dynamic, proactive, able to work under pressure, reliable, team spirit and interpersonal skills
