Nas.com is building two complementary AI products around one idea: AI should do the work required to grow a business, not only answer questions. We are seeking a Founding Data Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of our data platform.

You will inherit production pipelines, data models and a data warehouse, stabilize what is working, fix what is not, and rebuild components where necessary. This is a founding role, defining the next generation of our data platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Experience building production data infrastructure in fast-moving environments.

The Role

We're looking for a Founding Data Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of our data platform.

We already have production pipelines, data models, and a data warehouse. They have grown with the company, but parts of the system need stronger ownership, reliability, and technical direction.

You will inherit what exists, understand it deeply, stabilize what is working, fix what is not, and rebuild components where necessary. This is a founding role not because you are starting from a blank page, but because you will define the next generation of our data platform.

High-quality, well-connected data is fundamental to how we run the company and to the AI products we are building.

What You'll Do

• Own and evolve the data platform. Take end-to-end responsibility for its architecture, pipelines, quality, reliability, performance, cost, maintainability, and long-term direction. Connect product, transaction, analytics, CRM, financial, advertising, social media, and other operational data to the warehouse and downstream products, making pragmatic decisions as the company grows.
• Model the business clearly. Design reusable data models and metrics that help us understand company performance, product usage, customer behavior, and growth.
• Make data useful. Help Product, Finance, Operations, Engineering, leadership, analysts, and AI systems access the right data and use it confidently.
• Build customer-facing data products. Turn Nas.com data into useful dashboards and insights for entrepreneurs, and build the context layer that helps our agents understand each customer's data, performance, and business model.
• Go beyond fulfilling requests. Investigate the business behind the data, identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and help teams make better decisions.

Who You Are

You have strong data engineering fundamentals and experience building and operating production systems. More importantly:

• You have 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or a closely related engineering role.
• You have built, rebuilt, or substantially redesigned production data infrastructure, ideally in a startup or similarly fast‑moving environment.
• You have strong fundamentals in data modeling and production data systems.
• You make pragmatic technology choices and take responsibility for quality, reliability, usability, cost, complexity, and long‑term maintenance.
• You can take a broad, messy problem, investigate unfamiliar systems, create structure, and own it through to a working outcome.
• You use AI throughout your engineering workflow to investigate, build, document, debug, and learn, while exercising judgment about its output.
• You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders and are curious about the business behind the data.

Bonus Points

You do not need all of these. We are especially interested if you have experience with:

• AWS, MongoDB, BigQuery, dbt, Google Analytics, or advertising‑platform data.
• Building data products or serving trusted context to AI‑or‑agent‑powered systems.
• Building customer‑facing data products, dashboards, or insights, and working directly with customers to understand their data and business.
• Software engineering, analytics engineering, or working as a data analyst.
• Fast‑growing startups where you owned systems beyond a narrowly defined data pipeline.
