We are looking for a Formulation Specialist to support / lead key R&D Innovation & Renovation (I&R) product development projects with a high impact on the business. The Formulation Specialist will manage the project in alignment with innovation & renovation process & ways of working. Interacting proactively with other cross functional teams, especially business leads and operations, is required to ensure the overall project success. Finally, the Formulation Specialist will manage projects in a timely fashion to deliver winning products and support manufacturing process or commissioning in accordance with business needs.

A day in the life

Consumer Centric Thinking:

• Use ingredient expertise to develop differentiated concepts with strong consumer preference.
• Collaborate with the consumer insights team and support (participate) in consumer qualitative tests.

Project Management:

• Deliver concepts/product(s)/process(es)/system(s)/solution(s) with defined quality at agreed time and cost.
• Contribute to the future commercial success of the business through end-to-end project management.
• Effectively manage scope changes through proactive and open communication with stakeholders.
• Anticipate issues and proactively provide alternative solutions.
• Be actively involved in strategic plans and pipelines for related projects.
• Write and update process guidelines and manufacturing instructions with full compliance to internal and external requirements.

Time & Resource Management:

In a matrix-like organization:

• Ensure adherence to project budget and required competencies to successfully deliver against project objectives.

In a project-based organization:

• Provide technical leadership to the project team within the scope of role within a cross-functional project.

Coaching and Sharing:

• Facilitate and coach within the project team and enhance interaction and collaboration between various specialists, within R&D Units, Technical, and Business Units, and with external partners.
• Identify needs for technical & mandatory internal training within R&D and outside (where appropriate).
• If PMI certified; be an active member of the PMI-certified PMP Community.

Networking:

• Create synergies through effective networking with all relevant internal & external partners.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Interface between stakeholders, interact with business partners.

What Will Make You Successful

• Minimum 5 years of Application Groups/Product Development experience dealing with new technologies or improving current processes, with a successful track record of implementation.
• Experience working on projects with R&D teams (formulation, commissioning, etc.).
• Demonstrated courage and ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Proven communication skills (presents confidently and convincingly to steering committees).
• Experience in the briefing process.
• Good negotiating skills would be a plus.
• Experience in Operations and/or technical fields is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP, MS Office, and related tools.
