We are looking for a Formulation Specialist to support/lead key R&D Innovation & Renovation (I&R) product development projects with a high impact on the business. The Formulation Specialist will manage the project in alignment with innovation & renovation process & ways of working. Interacting proactively with other cross-functional teams, especially business leads and operations, is required to ensure the overall project success. Finally, the Formulation Specialist will manage projects in a timely fashion to deliver winning products and support manufacturing processes or commissioning in accordance with business needs.

A day in the life

CONSUMER CENTRIC THINKING:

• Use ingredient expertise to develop differentiated concepts with strong consumer preference.
• Collaborate with the consumer insights team and support (participate) in consumer qualitative tests.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

• Deliver concepts/product(s)/process(es)/system(s)/solution(s) with defined quality at agreed time and cost.
• Contribute to the future commercial success of the business through end-to-end project management.
• Effectively manage scope changes through proactive and open communication with stakeholders.
• Anticipate issues and proactively provide alternative solution(s).
• Be actively involved in the strategic plans and pipelines for related projects.
• Write and update process guidelines and manufacturing instructions with full compliance to internal and external requirements.

TIME & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
In a matrix-like organization:

• Ensure adherence to project budget and required competency to successfully deliver against project objectives.

In a project-based organization:

• Provide technical leadership to the project team within the scope of the role within a cross-functional project.

COACHING AND SHARING:

• Facilitate and coach within the project team and enhance the interaction and collaboration between the various specialists, within R&D Units, Technical and Business Units, and with external partners.
• Identify needs for technical & mandatory internal training within R&D and outside (where appropriate).
• If PMI certified, be an active member of the PMI certified PMP Community.

NETWORKING:

• Create synergies through effective networking with all relevant internal & external partners.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT:

• Interface between stakeholders, interact with business partners.

What will make you successful

• Minimum 5 years of Application Groups/Product Development experience dealing with new technologies or improving current processes and a successful track record of implementation.
• Experience working on projects with R&D teams (formulation, commissioning, etc.).
• Demonstrated courage and ability to take decisions and solve problems.
• Proven communication skills (presents confidently and convincingly to steering committees).
• Experience in the briefing process.
• Good negotiating skills would be a plus.
• Experience in Operations and/or technical would be a plus.
• SAP, MS knowledge and familiarity.
