Job summary

Equistar International College Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Form Teacher to oversee the pastoral care, discipline, attendance and student development in the assigned form class. Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Education, Teaching, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline.
• Experience as Form Teacher or similar student-facing role is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; fluent in English; Mandarin/Chinese a plus.
• Experience in international or private education environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pastoral care, discipline, attendance, wellbeing and development of students in the form class.

• Monitor attendance, academic progress and welfare, and follow up on concerns.
• Act as main contact between college, students, parents and teachers regarding progress and welfare.

• Support in organising orientations, examinations, events, and activities.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Take responsibility for the overall pastoral care, discipline, attendance, well-being, and development of students within the assigned form class.
2. Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages good learning habits, responsibility, respect, and positive behaviour.
3. Monitor students’ attendance, punctuality, conduct, academic progress, and general well-being, and follow up on concerns where necessary.
4. Act as the main point of contact between the college, students, parents, and subject teachers regarding students’ academic progress, behaviour, attendance, and welfare.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, parent communication, disciplinary matters, and other relevant documentation.
6. Work closely with subject teachers and academic staff to identify students who require additional academic, behavioural, or pastoral support.
7. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress, attendance, behaviour, and other school-related matters.
8. Conduct regular form/class meetings and student check-ins to address class matters and support students’ personal development.
9. Support the implementation of college rules, policies, and procedures, including handling minor disciplinary matters appropriately.
10. Assist in organising and supervising orientations, examinations, school events, educational activities, field trips, and other student programmes.
11. Support new students in settling into the college and encourage participation in school activities and programmes.
12. Work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams and perform other student-related duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

1. Diploma or Degree in Education, Teaching, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline.
2. Prior experience as a Form Teacher, Class Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, Teacher, or in a similar student-facing role will be an advantage.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
4. Patient, approachable, responsible, and able to manage student behaviour professionally.
5. Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple student-related matters effectively.
6. Able to handle parent enquiries and concerns professionally and maintain confidentiality.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
8. Good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Mandarin/Chinese will be an advantage.
9. Experience in an international school, private education institution, college, or international education environment will be an advantage.
10. Demonstrates a genuine interest in student development, pastoral care, and creating a positive learning environment.
