Job description

As a Foreign News Journalist, you will be expected to report on breaking international news, as well as producing in-depth analysis of global events, including Malaysia. You should possess excellent reporting, writing and collaboration skills to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely news across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on breaking international news stories, including Malaysia
• Write engaging news articles and features
• Develop and produce in-depth special reports on international events, providing context and a deeper understanding of global issues.
• Conduct interviews with international experts to provide insightful analysis of current events.
• Collaborate with other editorial teams to ensure comprehensive and well-coordinated news coverage
• Upload breaking news stories to social media platforms, providing first-hand updates to readers
• Support other editorial teams as needed, fostering a cohesive and dynamic work environment

Requirements:

• Degree in relevant fields, preferably in Journalism or Chinese language; candidates with prior relevant working experience preferred
• Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English (both written and spoken) as this role supports a Chinese publication
• Has strong interest in news and current affairs, and possesses an inquisitive mind with a nose for news
• Driven, highly adaptable and able to work independently but also connect with people and collaborate as a team
• Able to work under pressure and irregular working hours
