Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety, order and cleanliness of food laboratories, preparation rooms, utensils and equipment
- Prepare ingredients for students' practical lessons
- Assist teachers to perform hands-on demonstration for students when necessary
- Assist teachers to maintain classroom discipline during practical lessons
- Update and keep stock on budget for food ingredients to ensure budget is adequately utilised
- Compile food order list based on lesson needs in a timely manner for teachers to restock necessary supplies with school-approved food supplier
- Perform inventory check for Food Laboratories when called upon
- Assist in checking and inform teachers of cooker hob and oven servicing and repair required
- Assist teacher in providing clear labelling for equipment, tools and food storage
Requirements
- At least a PSLE certificate and valid Food Hygiene Certificate, able to communicate, read, write and understand food terms and instruction manual in English.
- Familiar with kitchen appliances and general kitchen safety.
- Good knowledge on food ingredients and food preparation skills is a must.
- Trained in food safety and food handling.
- Preferably to have experience in a school-kitchen.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word & Excel.
Duration / Working hours
12 months contract (Option to extend another year) 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Jan 2026
- Mondays to Fridays: About 7.00am to 2.00pm (start and end timing depending on the last class for the day). inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- When more than 6 working hours, a 30-minute break will be given.
- Service required on January to May and July to September only.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
- Service not required in October and School Holidays (eg. June, November and December) unless required.
