Job summary

Surbana Consultants Pte Ltd in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) branch seeks a Mechanical & Fire Engineering Manager to lead maintenance programs for a range of systems, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate with vendors and clients.

The role requires strong leadership of technical personnel, effective stakeholder engagement, and a focus on efficiency through CMMS data and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Chief Engineer and/or Engineering & Sustainability Manager.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Be the central point of contact for the programs/projects managed.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and provide clear recommendations on risk management and escalation of issues.
  • Manage a team of technical officers, technicians, and vendors.
  • Participate and support Asset Enhancement Initiatives.
  • Schedule maintenance for Mechanical System, P&S, Fire Protection System, PA system and track maintenance for pumps, detectors, hydraulics and related equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance works follow prescribed checklists and schedules.
  • Strategize, coordinate, and execute rectification works with adherence to timelines and SLA KPI.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of standby vendors for emergencies.
  • Provide updates to clients to meet expectations.
  • Ensure maintenance programs and rectification jobs are managed by a team of officers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with owners/users and vendors on engineering requirements to achieve objectives.
  • Use CMMS to track preventive maintenance, fault reports, work orders, and trend data.
  • Liaise with external/internal partners for new initiatives, major repairs, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Review and comment on drawings.
  • Oversee Addition & Alteration (A&A), Repair & Redecoration (R&R), and other project works.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across designated projects using Lean Six Sigma.
  • Improve operational efficiency and energy-conservation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations Technology Development and partners to introduce new processes or technologies.
  • Draft quotations for Minor, Various, and Breakdown works.
  • Use in-house software systems for daily operations.
  • The Mechanical & Fire T.O shall cover for the Mechanical & Fire Engineer in absence.
  • Any other duties assigned by the SFM and/or CE and/or ESM.

  • Communicate effectively to engage with internal and external stakeholders and provide synthesized and clear recommendations to management on risk management (project target, progress, etc) and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team.
  • Manage a team of technical officers, technicians, and vendors.
  • Participate and support Asset Enhancement Initiatives.
  • Schedule maintenance activities for Mechanical System, P&S, Fire Protection System, Public Announcement (PA) System and keep track of maintenance works with follow-up actions for equipment such as Fire Pumps, Fire Alarms Panels, Sprinkler Pumps, Hydrant Pipe (Wet & Dry), Hydrant Pumps, Smoke Detectors, Frame Detectors, Smoke Extraction Fans, Fireman Intercom, PA Speakers, PA server, Plumbing, Sanitary, Water Dispenser, Potable Water Tank, NEWater Tanks, Potable Water Pumps, NEWater pumps, Ejector Pumps, Sump pumps, etc.
  • Ensure all maintenance works are carried out according to prescribed checklist and schedule.
  • Strategize, coordinate, and execute rectification works, ensuring efficiency and adherence to timelines and SLA KPI.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of standby vendors for cases of emergencies.
  • Provide excellent service to client expectations by performing progressive updates of information to the client.
  • Ensure the maintenance programs and rectification jobs are managed by a team of technical officers and technicians efficiently.
  • Provide feasible solutions and coordinate with owners/users, vendors/contractors on engineering functional requirements and ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Effectively utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track Preventive Maintenance, Fault Reports, Corrective Work Orders, and analyze the trending of the data in the CMMS.
  • Liaise with external/internal companies or agencies for new initiatives, major repairs, and maintenance works, coordinating seamlessly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Review and comment on drawings.
  • Oversee Addition & Alteration (A&A), Repair & Redecoration (R&R), and other project works.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across designated projects, employing methodologies like Lean Six Sigma (LSS) to enhance productivity and boost the bottom line.
  • Improve the efficiency of the operational process, innovate, and implement systems improvement on energy conservation.
  • Actively participate in innovation and the introduction of new processes or technologies by collaborating with the Operations Technology Development team and relevant technology partners.
  • Draft quotations for Minor works, Various works, and Breakdown works.
  • Use in-house software systems for daily operation.
  • The Mechanical & Fire T.O shall act as cover for the Mechanical & Fire Engineer in the event of absence.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the SFM and/or CE and/or ESM.
