Skyports Limited is seeking a Flight Operations Team Leader to oversee drone operations and ensure safety and compliance. The Role
As a Team Leader at Skyports, you will play a crucial role in our flight operations team. You will be responsible for operating our advanced drone systems for various services, including drone delivery, surveying, and surveillance. Your expertise in remote piloting, adherence to aviation regulations, and commitment to safety will contribute to the successful execution of our missions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to the development of operational procedures, and provide valuable insights and recommendations based on post-flight analysis.
Responsibilities
a) Accountability for Team Output: Ensure the highest standards of safety and performance in training and operations
b) Team Readiness: Confirm that all team members are fully trained, qualified, and ready for their tasks
c) Equipment and Gear: Ensure team members are properly equipped for tasks in varying conditions
a) Flight Planning: Execute detailed flight planning based on Skyports’ best practises and aircraft documentation
b) Infrastructure Oversight: Supervise the setup and safety of Takeoff and Landing Points (TOLPs), assigning Hub Operator (HO) leads to each
c) Weather Briefings: Conduct daily meteorological briefings to inform the team of environmental conditions
d) Team Brief: Conduct daily (start and end of day) pre-deployment and operational briefs
a) Fleet Serviceability: Oversee aircraft airworthiness, ensuring maintenance meets Skyports standards
b) Maintenance Supervision: Direct maintenance activities, up to levels 1 and 2, if qualified
a) Record Keeping: Maintain accurate operational records on platforms like Centrik, ensuring timely compliance with documentation protocols
b) Regulatory Adherence: Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), aviation regulations, and laws
a) Communication Protocols: Manage team communication channels for effectiveness and proper use
b) Incident Reporting: Oversee the prompt submission of occurrence reports by team members
a) Resource Planning: Manage team resource allocation for optimal utilisation and to prevent overextension
b) Fatigue Monitoring: Monitor team fatigue levels and human factors to ensure overall well-being
a) Personal Proficiency: Maintain currency and competency on at least one Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) platform
b) Operational Familiarity: Stay familiar with all operational areas to be ready to act as a qualified remote pilot
a) Visitor Induction: Provide comprehensive safety briefings to visitors, outlining operational hazards and emergency procedures
Qualifications
a) Hold a valid Unmanned Aircraft Pilot License (UAPL) Multi-rotor, up to 25kg
b) Familiarity with Singapore Air Navigation Order (ANO) and CAAS UAS regulatory requirements
a) Proficiency in flight planning tools, mission software, and UAS platforms used by the organisation
b) Familiarity with basic maintenance procedures, fleet documentation, and airworthiness assurance
a) Ability to manage end-to-end field operations, including TOLP setup, crew briefings, and stakeholder communication
b) Capable of responding to in-field issues, making real-time decisions, and managing unforeseen disruptions
a) Ability to monitor fatigue, manage resources and maintain team morale and cohesion
b) Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal teams and clients
c) Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional results
d) Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in dynamic situations
a) Hold a valid Class 3 driver’s license
Summary
The Team Leader is responsible for the overall safety, performance, and readiness of their team during training and operations, including all personnel and equipment both in the air and on the ground. This role oversees flight and operational planning, ensures team competency and equipment preparedness, and maintains strict compliance with safety protocols, SOPs, and aviation regulations.
The Team Leader is also expected to manage stakeholders on-site, respond to operational challenges with sound judgment, and ensure clear communication throughout. Additional responsibilities include maintenance oversight, resource allocation, fatigue monitoring, documentation, and maintaining proficiency on at least one UAS platform. This role is critical to ensuring mission success, stakeholder confidence, and operational integrity.
