Job summary

Linda Mandarin in Singapore is seeking a Part-Time Mandarin Chinese Language Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to adults and children, following a structured syllabus and teaching materials.

You will teach conversational Mandarin, business Mandarin, and classes online or at client sites, with emphasis on speaking confidence and real-world communication; ideal candidates hold relevant degrees and have fluent English.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or Degree in Linguistics, Education, Chinese Studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience teaching Mandarin Chinese / Chinese as a Foreign Language.
• Excellent Mandarin proficiency.
• Fluent English with the ability to explain Chinese concepts in English.
• Comfortable using English as the medium of instruction.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about teaching and helping learners achieve language goals.
• Professional, reliable and responsible.
• Willing to conduct classes in Singapore, including occasional travel to clients' locations.
• Able to attend interview face-to-face in Singapore or via Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging and effective Mandarin lessons according to our structured syllabus and teaching materials.
• Deliver high-quality Chinese language instruction.
• Develop learners’ Mandarin speaking, listening, vocabulary and communication skills.
• Adapt teaching approaches according to learners’ proficiency, objectives and learning needs.
• Conduct private and group classes at our centres or clients' locations.
• Conduct online lessons when required.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to learners on how to improve their Mandarin.
• Maintain a professional, positive and learner-focused teaching environment.
