Job summary

Mol Global Ship Management seeks a Chief Engineer with LNG expertise to lead ship management operations and oversee a fleet of LNG vessels. You will drive maintenance planning, cost control, safety compliance and casualty response within a global organization.

Responsibilities include supervising superintendents, coordinating vessel docking, managing spares and subcontractors, and implementing strategic objectives for the team.

Qualifications

• LNG Ship Management experience is required.
• Experience in planning and executing LNG dry docking.
• Deep understanding of LNG propulsion systems and cargo containment.

Responsibilities

• Directly reports to GM of Ship Management Division and oversees superintendents and vessels in charge.
• supervise maintenance of managed vessels; prepare, implement and review maintenance plans.
• Control technical information related to safe operation and ongoing maintenance of vessels.
• Prepare and monitor budgets; manage cost control.
• Investigate accidents and mechanical failures to implement corrective actions.
• Ensure safe use of machinery and monitor vessel operating performance and current condition.
• Oversee spare parts, stores and lubricants; manage stocking and supply.
• Plan and execute vessel docking and related activities.
• Evaluate and select subcontractors for ship management needs.
• Prepare backup systems for the superintendents team.
• Set and implement the company’s objectives for the team.
• Manage marine casualty responses under the Safety Management System.

• Directly reports to GM of Ship Management Division
• Overall management of superintendents and vessels in direct charge of.
• Supervise the maintenance of managed vessels, including preparation / implementation / reviewing of vessel maintenance plan.
• Control technical information concerned with safe operation, including maintenance.
• Budget-preparation and cost control.
• Investigate the causes of accidents and mechanical failures, as required for implementing corrective actions.
• Take all responsibilities for safe use of machinery and equipment, monitoring the operating performance and the current condition of vessels.
• Overall supervision of spare parts, vessel's stores and lubricant supply.
• Overall in‑charge of planning and execution of vessels’ docking.
• Evaluation and selection of sub‑contractors.
• Preparation of backup system for superintendents.
• Setup and implement the company’s Objectives for the team.
• Marine casualty management as per Safety Management System.
• Prepare and implement plans for takeover of vessels, liaising with seaferer’s division, HSEQ division and Marine Division.

Qualifying Criteria

• Hold Chief Engineer certificate of competency.
• More than 4 years experience in LNG Ship Management.
• Experience of planning and executing LNG dry docking.
• Has a deep understanding of various LNG propulsion and cargo containment systems.
