Job summary

The Shugart site in Singapore hosts Seagate Technology’s R&D internship focused on firmware and software test development. You will work with a globally distributed team to validate firmware features using C/C++/Python, participate in Agile processes, and gain exposure to internal test frameworks and industry standards.

Applicants should have a Masters in Computer Science or related field and at least 3 months of project work, with Linux and shell command familiarity.

Qualifications

• 3+ months of project experience in developing and debugging software or firmware in Python, C, C++, C#, or Java.
• Experience with Linux operating system and Shell commands.
• Masters or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Use Seagate’s proprietary AI tool to analyze Seagate proprietary scripting software (STX).
• Add missing test coverage and enhance test cases to meet firmware test requirements.
• Update test software to support new test requirements and objectives.
• Study industry specifications (e.g., SCSI, HDD SMART) and Seagate documentation.
• Write and run unit and bench tests, debug and validate software and firmware behavior.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate to ensure quality implementation.
