Job summary

Quest Global Engineering Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop and maintain firmware for PLCs and automation systems. You will troubleshoot firmware issues, collaborate with hardware engineers, and ensure robust testing and validation.

The role requires hands-on experience with C/C++, RTOS like VxWorks, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, CAN, Serial). PLC/CoDeSys exposure is a plus, with a strong emphasis on hardware–firmware integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering with 3+ years in embedded software development.
Experience in development of PLCs and/or Bus Couplers and/or IO modules for industrial automation applications.
Hands-on experience in prototype development and design validation techniques.
Proficient in C or C++.
Experience in developing applications on VxWorks.
Hands-on experience with Modbus, EtherNet/IP, CAN, Serial.
Preference for PLC work in CoDeSys environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain firmware for PLCs and other automation systems.
Identify and resolve issues within the firmware through troubleshooting and debugging.
Collaborate with hardware engineers and other software developers across cross-functional teams.
Ensure firmware functions meet requirements through thorough testing.
Work with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
Handle communication protocols like Modbus, EtherNet/IP, CAN, Serial.
