We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Operations Manager tolead and scale our core financial operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance,you will be pivotal in managing the team responsible for the daily execution andcontinuous improvement of our finance and treasury functions. This criticalleadership role involves managing a global team, ensuring the efficiency,accuracy, scalability, and compliance of our financial operations, particularlyconcerning card issuing and cross-border payment flows in both fiat and crypto.You will drive operational excellence by setting and monitoring KPIs and SLAsto mitigate financial risks, and enhancing stakeholder experiences.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing global Financial Operations team, fostering a culture of accuracy,efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Operational Oversight & Excellence: Oversee daily financial operations,including transaction processing, reconciliations, settlements, and managementof fiat and crypto assets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence toprocedures
- Process Optimisation & Scalability: Analyse existing workflows, identifybottlenecks, and implement process improvements and automation solutions toenhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure systems can scale withbusiness growth. Develop, implement, and enforce robust operational policiesand procedures.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Define, track, and report on keyoperational metrics and SLAs. Analyse data to identify trends, provide insightsto senior management, and inform strategic decision-making. Preparemanagement reports on operational performance.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Growth) to supportproduct launches, resolve issues, and ensure seamless operations. Managerelationships with key external partners, including banks, payment processors,and other vendors.
- Incident & Escalation Management: Oversee the resolution of operationalissues and customer escalations related to payments, transactions, and fundflows, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5-7+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, with asignificant portion within the fintech, payments, e-money, or banking sector.
- Proven experience managing and scaling operational teams, preferably in a global context.
- Deep understanding one or more of the following disciplines - B2Bpayments, card issuing processes (prepaid/debit/credit), paymentnetwork rules (e.g.Visa/Mastercard), cross-border payments, FXmanagement, and associated regulatory requirements (e.g., AML, KYC).
- Familiarity with crypto operations is a plus.
- Strong track record of optimising financial operations processes,implementing automation, managing SLAs, and driving efficiency gains.
- Experience developing and enforcing operational policies.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop ateam.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable ofmanaging complex relationships with internal and external stakeholdersacross different levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identifytrends, assess risks, and make data-driven decisions. Adept attroubleshooting and resolving complex operational issues.
- Proficient with financial software, payment platforms, reconciliation toolsand reporting systems. Advanced Excel skills are often required.
- Experience with API integrations is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or arelated field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) are aplus.
