Within the Financial Crime Compliance Operations department, we are at the forefront of innovation and alongside our colleagues are engaged in safely developing Business Services to support the fast-structuring crypto-industry.
This is a key role within the Group Financial Crime Compliance Operations Team (“FCC”). This role is pivotal in ensuring that Zodia executes its ongoing due diligence and monitoring obligations on clients and effectively manages risk in the first line. The role is based in Singapore or Sydney and will be the local 1LoD Financial Crime lead in addition to providing support to the overall team to ensure the business remains compliant with both regulatory and legislative requirements imposed by Global regulators. This will be an important role within Zodia Custody’s APAC operations in addition to the group responsibilities.
You'll spend your time:.
- Conducting investigations relating to ‘classic’ Transaction monitoring, screening alerts and on-chain transactions.
- Managing financial crime risk for Zodia Custody across APAC and helping to translate local regulatory requirements into efficient operational processes by working with the local revenue team and group operations teams
- Reviewing due diligence (including KYC) completed by onboarding analysts and taking a leading role in assessing risk in relation to complex clients wanting to become customers of Zodia Custody.
- Assessing risk in relation to complex non-client relationships and partnerships that Zodia Custody enters into.
- Supporting the conduct of Quality Assurance Reviews into work completed by
- Helping respond to information requests from third parties and Zodia Custody partners as required.
- Assist in the compilation of risk metrics and the identification, escalation and management of financial crime risk including regular reporting to key risk management committees
- Supporting the review and update of department procedures and drive system and process improvements.
- To assist with any other operational tasks as might reasonably be requested.
The role will be based in Singapore or Sydney. Whilst we expect you to work within local time-zone hours, there will occasionally be required meetings with group stakeholders and managers based in London.
Above all, we are looking for people that are excited and proactive about helping Zodia Custody scale in a compliant, thoughtful and controlled way.
- You have a minimum 4 years working in a digital assets, financial services or professional services firm with experience in financial crime compliance, operations or consulting;
- You have a good understanding of the regulatory framework in Singapore, Hong Kong or Australia, particularly relating to AML, Sanctions, Tax Evasion and Terrorist Financing;
- You have financial crime experience with client types such as high-net-worth individuals, complex entities or business lines such as digital assets, private banking or commercial banking;
- You have a good understanding of risk management;
- You're a self-starter, driving and autonomous, able to make prioritisation decisions and able to work independently with minimum supervision;
- You have experience managing multiple deadlines through to completion and have excellent attention to detail;
- You're resilient and comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment where the day to day job is constantly evolving and changing
- You are hands-on and great at execution;
- You're a team player and collaborate well with other people including with teams that may be partly remote;
- You have industry and market awareness of requirements, developments and initiatives that may impact Zodia and/or its clients in the financial crime compliance regulatory environment.
