Job summary

Michael Page Singapore partners with a well-established consumer sector company to appoint a high-calibre Financial Controller at their Singapore head office. The role reports to the Group CFO and leads the accounting team to ensure robust financial controllership.

You will oversee financial control activities, consolidation, intercompany reconciliations, tax compliance, auditors, and drive improved reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CA/CPA/ACCA qualification.
• At least 8 years of working experience.
• Experience in consumer sector and financial controllership.
• Big 4 audit experience is beneficial.

They are undergoing transformation to inject more pace and enhance its data, tech functionality and as a result, will require a high calibre Financial Controller to join its head office.

Job Description

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will be expected to lead the accounting team and manage the financial controllership function.

• Oversee financial control activities to maintain accurate and timely financial information.
• Prepare and review financial reports to support clear management decision-making.
• Oversee group consolidation and monthly intercompany & balance sheet reconciliations
• Strengthen and develop business processes for sound financial management, resource allocation and decision making
• Provide insights & analyses of financial performances
• Liaise with regional teams & management on financial reporting & analysis, region alignment and ad hoc assignments & projects
• Review corporate tax, GST and withholding tax as prepared by team.
• Maintain strong financial records and documentation across the Accounting & Finance function.
• Liaise with external auditors, corporate secretaries, bankers and tax agents as and when necessary.
• Implement and/or review financial policies and procedures to ensure effective & efficient financial management within the company.
• Improve financial reporting processes to increase consistency and efficiency.
• Work with internal stakeholders to provide clear financial guidance and insight.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally, the successful candidate should have a degree in Accounting or equivalent and is CA / CPA / ACCA qualified with at least 8 years of working experience. Initial experience in audit with a big 4 accounting firm will be beneficial in this role. You should have strong accounting, financial controllership experience within the consumer sector and is also well versed in the latest accounting standards and regulations. Experience managing accounting team and driving financial controllership function is essential for this position. You should also possess strong communication and presentation skills as you will need to interface and engage with senior business leaders in this role.
