As a key business partner, the Financial Controller's main responsibility is to provide a leadership role on all aspects of the Company’s financial operations encompassing all areas relating to financial reporting, addressing tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation as well as the support of budget and forecast activities for the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the following duties but are not limited to:
Manage and drive efficiency in core finance processes such as financial planning, forecasting, reporting, business reviews and planning
Provide comments on company’s P&L - data consolidation and variance analysis
Responsible for cash management and forecast; controlling the Group’s cash flow and provide clear projection and suggestions to Management
Prepare annual budgets & forecasts with oversight by Finance Director
Oversee daily accounting and financial matters of a group of companies
Reviewing management accounts, preparing accounts analysis, related statutory reports in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements (e.g. MAS)
Prepare and analyze monthly and annual reports and presentations to identify results, trends and financial forecasts to the Management
Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
Reconcile bank and investment accounts
Recommend and implement appropriate solutions to achieve business efficiencies and strengthen internal control
Manage capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
Support Management and Heads of Departments in cost reduction process and improvement initiatives
Support management in review and analysis of financial impact of strategic initiatives and investment opportunities
Risk management including monitoring all risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized
To take a lead on legal matters pertaining to the business
Assist and support projects as required by the Finance Director
Job Requirements:
A qualified Financial Controller with advanced degree in Finance/Accounting or ACCA/CA and MBA with at least 5 years of experience in Controlling key skills
An independent and entrepreneurial individual who is financially trained with sound business acumen will be desirable
Believe in having a hands-on approach to business analysis, budget management and able to create systems that can manage a regional team
Experience in working and implementing SAP systems is required
Proficient in all Microsoft software e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills at all levels
Excellent analytical, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
Excellent project management skills
Possess a proven ability to multi-task, respond to needs quickly and efficiently as well as prioritize work with a strong attention to details
