Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Partner with senior leaders across Projects, Engineering, Procurement, and Commercial teams to drive strategic financial decisions.
- Shape the company’s long-term financial strategy and ensure it aligns with the broader business goals.
- Lead the financial planning, capital structuring, and growth initiatives to support Alstern Technologies’ aggressive scale-up plans.
- Manage the execution of real-time financial dashboards to track key performance metrics and financial visibility across business units.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Own the annual and multi-year financial planning processes, ensuring clear alignment with company goals.
- Develop robust financial models and forecasts, including cash flow, profitability, and capital expenditure.
- Conduct variance analysis to provide meaningful insights on performance and drive cost management and operational efficiency.
- Work with leadership to monitor margins and enforce discipline in billing and pricing strategies.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Ensure real-time financial reporting across the organization, leveraging financial automation and ERP systems.
- Establish and maintain key financial metrics and KPIs to measure business performance and inform decision-making.
- Oversee preparation of board-level financial reports, ensuring clarity and actionable insights for executives.
- Review and improve processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
4. Capital Structuring & Funding:
- Lead efforts to secure growth capital, managing relationships with investors, banks, and funding partners.
- Advise on and implement the company’s capital structure, debt, and equity financing strategies.
- Develop and maintain financial models for capital raising and manage the negotiation of funding terms.
5. Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure strong financial governance across the organization, particularly with respect to cost control, billing discipline, and internal controls.
- Oversee regulatory compliance and audit processes, ensuring adherence to local and international financial standards and regulations.
- Implement best practices in financial processes and controls across regional operations.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a growing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Ensure the finance team is equipped with the tools and training needed to execute day-to-day operations efficiently while supporting long-term strategic objectives.
- Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and execution.
7. ERP & Financial Systems Automation:
- Lead the optimization of ERP systems to enable greater financial automation, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Implement financial systems that ensure seamless financial data flow and reporting across the business.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, ACCA, etc.) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of financial leadership experience, ideally within a fast-growth technology or engineering company.
- Strong track record of leading financial planning, capital structuring, and operational governance in dynamic environments.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing financial dashboards, ERP systems, and performance monitoring processes.
- Proven ability to secure and manage growth capital, with a deep understanding of funding relationships and financial markets.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and governance, with the ability to manage audits and regulatory requirements.
