A lot of people in their first few years of work are still figuring out what they actually want from a career. I don’t think you need to have everything figured out at 23, 25 or 28.
What matters more to me is whether you’re willing to learn, communicate well, take feedback and keep improving.
That’s the kind of person I want to bring into my team.
I’m Hilary Huang from FinMeister, part of the Advisors’ Clique Collective under Great Eastern Financial Advisers (GEFA).
Insurance and investment planning is the core of the work.
Before you read further, I want to be upfront about how the role works.
There is no fixed monthly salary and no guaranteed income. What you earn depends on your performance, development and completed business.
So if you’re specifically looking for a salaried role, this probably won’t be the right opportunity for you, and that’s completely okay.
But if you’re open to learning a profession, developing your communication skills and building something based on your own performance, you may want to keep reading.
You’ll be trained in areas such as:
You won’t be expected to provide financial advice before completing the required training, examinations and representative-appointment requirements.
You’ll start as an Apprentice, where you’ll learn the fundamentals, receive structured guidance and work towards the applicable CMFAS examination requirements.
As you progress into the Practitioner stage, you’ll gradually get more exposure to client conversations and advisory work, with coaching along the way.
At the Meister stage, you’ll continue developing alongside more experienced Financial Consultants.
I won’t expect you to know everything from day one.
I will expect you to ask questions, take feedback seriously and put in the work.
This may suit you if you:
I’m more interested in how you learn, how you communicate, how you respond to feedback and whether you’re willing to take responsibility for your own progress.
You don’t have to commit to anything just by starting a conversation.
I’ll walk you through the role, the training, the income structure and what I would expect from you.
Then you can decide whether it makes sense for you.
Applicants should not provide sensitive personal information beyond what is reasonably necessary for recruitment at the initial application stage.
Personal data submitted for recruitment will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and Great Eastern’s relevant privacy policy:
https://www.greateasternlife.com/sg/en/privacy-and-security-policy/general-public.html
If there’s a potential fit, we’ll have an initial conversation about your background, what you’re looking for and whether the role is suitable for you.
From there, I’ll explain the training pathway, engagement structure and next steps clearly before you make any decision.
