Job description

Role summary

This is a Financial Accountant role reporting to the Head of Finance. The individual will be part of the accounting team supporting the financial and reporting activities of the Company.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Transaction management which involves processing across Accounts Receivable and Payable functions while maintaining strong control over the related Collection and Payment cycles
  • Ledger Accounting which involves maintenance of accounting data within the general ledger system via monthly closing and balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Business analysis of key drivers affecting the various sources of income
  • Reporting to stakeholders, including provision of cost centre information to Business Units and Intercompany reconciliation reports to Head Office
  • Regulatory reporting to regulators and tax authorities, in particular GST returns, Income and Expenditure Report and annual surveys
  • Handling audit queries in support of smooth and timely delivery of audited statements
  • Active participation in process improvement discussions and initiatives
  • Support in administrative functions of the Company
  • Any other ad hoc business initiatives and projects.

Education qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy with a reputable institution
  • Professionally qualified accountants with relevant experience will be considered

Experience and skills

  • 5 to 8 years of accounting experience, preferably within asset management or investment firms
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to work across departments and engage with stakeholders and external counterparties
  • Proactive and positive mindset with a focus on improving processes and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using Oracle is advantageous
