Join Our Global Team: Financial Accountant Role (Based in Singapore)

As part of our continued growth in Asia, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Singapore.

This position is part of our financial services team that supports COVA’s entities across Southeast Asia and Australia. The role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of payroll operations across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Data Entry & Transaction Processing

· Prepare and process financial data entries in accounting systems Xero, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal accounting policies.

· Maintain and update general ledger accounts, journals, and supporting schedules.

2. Bank Reconciliation & Ledger Maintenance

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts to ensure accuracy between bank records and internal books.

· Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to maintain data integrity.

3. Management Reporting

· Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including detailed schedules and variance analysis.

· Assist in interpreting financial data to support business performance reviews and decision-making.

· Draft unaudited financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., SFRS/IFRS).

· Support the year-end closing process and assist with audit schedules where required.

5. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

· Prepare and review corporate tax computations, including deferred tax where applicable.

· Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns in compliance with IRAS regulations.

· Liaise with external tax agents or authorities where necessary.

6. Ad-Hoc Tasks & Administrative Support

· Perform ad-hoc accounting duties, reconciliations, or data analysis as assigned by the Finance Manager or Director.

· Assist in process improvement initiatives, financial system updates, or documentation reviews.

· Provide regular financial updates and reports to the Finance Manager or Supervisor.

· Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support financial operations and compliance activities across Asia and Australia

Qualifications:

· A relevant degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance (CA).

· Certified CA preferred whilst working toward ISCA membership

· Minimum of 5 years+ experience in a related financial role.

· A strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations across Singapore, Australia, and Southeast Asia is essential for this role.

· Experience with intercompany transactions across borders and transfer pricing related recharges.

· Experience with Tax across multiple jurisdictions.

· Proficiency in payroll software, MS Office, and high-level skills in Excel.

· Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Proficiency in both verbal and written English.
