Job description

The Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and the efficient operation of SURTECO Asia’s financial processes. Is responsible for managing the accounting and financial activities of all relevant entities and countries. The scope includes Singapore, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam and preparing reports for both Asia Pacific Business Unit and Head Office in Germany.

Critical Responsibilities

  • Payroll:

    • Support with end-to-end payroll processing across all entities across Asia through ADP Outsourced Payroll.

    • Ensure additional payments are processed such as CPF, social security, housing and other such agreed payments.

    • Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and wage laws in each country as well as company policies.

    • Liaise with relevant accounting firm to process payroll for Japan and prepare social security and bank payment in Foshan, China.

    • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, reports, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Journals: Process daily & monthly.

  • Tax payments:

    • Prepare annual tax calculations and process payment annually.

    • Assist with any other relevant tax preparation for payments as required.

  • Reconciliation:

    • Bank statement.

    • Cash flow.

    • Balance sheet accounts.

    • Freight.

    • Intercompany purchases.

  • Financial Reporting.

  • Month end & year end close.

  • Ensure financial compliance across the entities in Asia.

  • Provide audit support for both internal and external annual audits.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting & CPA.

  • 3+ years' experience in accounting.

  • Payroll experience.

  • Experience in Manufacturing (desirable).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
