Job summary

Dyson Institute is seeking an experienced Financial Systems Analyst to support global finance operations and system development. You will optimize the Finance Systems platform and enable data-driven decision making across Finance and IT functions.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements to meet evolving business needs. A strong background in C#, VB.Net, or SQL is required, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with C#, VB.Net, or SQL development is preferred.
  • Knowledge of system administration and setup is a plus.
  • Experience with any financial system, including S4 HANA, Hyperion is a plus.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the financial system, ensuring uptime and performance.
  • Implementation & Integration: Support configuration changes and integrations with ERP, data warehouses, BI&A.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide second-level support, resolve system issues and performance problems.
  • Customizations & Enhancements: Develop business rules, calculations, and reporting templates.
  • Training & Documentation: Create user manuals, training guides, and system documentation.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with Finance, IT, and other teams to deliver solutions.

About Us

We are looking for an experienced Financial Systems Analyst to support our global finance operations and development, ensuring smooth and efficient processes for Group Financial Planning and Reporting activities. In this key role, you will actively contribute to the optimization and performance of our Finance Systems platform while supporting business decision-making. You will work across teams and systems to help drive our long-term business goals and gain deep insight into both the finance and information technology landscapes.

Job Summary

The Finance System Analyst will have a primary focus on supporting systems operations and development, ensuring that Group Financial Planning and Reporting activities are carried out efficiently. In addition, you will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure that finance-owned systems deliver the necessary capabilities to enhance operational efficiency across the global finance function. You will also actively contribute to system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements to meet the organization’s evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the financial system, ensuring uptime, stability, and optimal performance. Implement and maintain system configurations, security settings, and user access. Perform routine system backups, patches, and updates.
  • Implementation & Integration: Support and assist in the implementation of configuration changes and updates. Lead integration efforts between finance systems and other enterprise systems (ERP, data warehouses, BI&A etc.). Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure data integrity and seamless flow of information.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide second-level support to users, troubleshooting and resolving system issues. Analyse and address performance issues, ensuring that the financial system operates at optimal speed and efficiency. Assist in data migration and system upgrades, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
  • Customizations & Enhancements: Develop and implement custom business rules, calculations, and reporting templates. Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system features and configurations. Monitor system performance and suggest improvements for functionality and scalability.
  • Training & Documentation: Create user manuals, training guides, and system documentation. Provide training to internal users and stakeholders on Systems usage and best practices.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Finance, IT, and other business teams to understand needs and deliver appropriate solutions. Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders for issue resolution and system upgrades.
Competencies
  • Business Partnering: You will need to understand and translate finance/business requirements into system product requirements and vice versa, ensuring alignment with finance objectives.
  • Process Excellence: You should have a continuous improvement mindset and demonstrate experience in influencing process improvement and excellence, contributing to more efficient and effective finance systems.
  • Technical Skills: You should demonstrate proficiency in VB.Net, C#, or SQL coding or data analysis to drive technical solution delivery and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Systems Administration: You should have an interest in or experience with owning and administrating aspects of a platform, such as managing setup, user access governance, and platform configuration.
  • Change Management: Familiarity with or experience in change management frameworks or key processes that ensure smooth transitions during system updates and enhancements.
  • Master Data Management: You should understand the role that master data plays in financial and other functions within a complex organization, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data flows.
  • Attention to Detail: You must have strong attention to detail and be able to consistently complete large volumes of repetitive tasks to a high standard.
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting: You should have foundational awareness of financial processes and demonstrate a willingness to develop your understanding further as you work closely with finance users of the system.

Experience with any financial system, including S4 HANA, Hyperion is a plus. Strong interest in financial systems and utilizing technology to drive performance and impact across the organization.
  • Skills: Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Basic understanding of financial processes and principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge to improve financial systems.
