Job description

Role Purpose

The Finance System Lead bridges the gap between core accounting governance and NetSuite system administration. This role ensures the absolute integrity of the agency’s financial data across two distinct companies, 55 project types, and 150+ funder-driven P&Ls. They will serve as the internal NetSuite "Champion," optimizing workflows, enforcing grant compliance tracking, and supervising month‑end closures.

Responsibilities

1. NetSuite Governance & Dimensional Architecture
   • Maintain the Global COA: Act as the ultimate gatekeeper for the Chart of Accounts (COA), NetSuite Custom Segments, etc.
   • Grant & Program Onboarding: Translate new government grants, donor contracts, or service center locations into the correct NetSuite system parameters so data tags automatically from day one.
   • System Optimization: Design, test, and deploy custom NetSuite Saved Searches, Financial Layouts, and real‑time Dashboards for program heads and the executive team.
   • Troubleshooting & Training: Act as the first line of internal support for the finance team and center managers regarding NetSuite errors, and train new staff on procurement/expense workflows.
2. Financial Control & Grant Governance
   • Month‑End Close Management: Oversee the month‑end closing schedule within NetSuite, ensuring all sub‑ledgers (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, etc.) lock on time.
   • Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, pulling system‑generated compliance trails directly from NetSuite.
3. Team Capabilities & Process Automation
   • Supervise and mentor the core accounting team (Grants Analysts and Transactional Specialists).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CA, CPA, or ACCA certification.

Experience

• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience administering or heavily using NetSuite or similar financial system (preferably NetSuite).
• Experience in non‑profit, SSA, or public sector fund accounting is a big advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in NetSuite (Saved Searches, Suite Analytics, Matrix Reporting) and Excel.
• Strong Accounting background with a Tech‑Forward outlook is important due to the nature of the role requirement.
