A leading commodity trading firm in Singapore is seeking a Finance / Senior Finance Executive to support their trading business. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant finance experience, particularly in commodity trading, and possess strong skills in managing trade finance activities. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate terms and liaise with banks for timely issuance of Import LC and SBLC.
  • Monitor schedule for timely receipt of Export LCs from buyers.
  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations.

About SK Energy International (SKEI)

SKEI markets and trades crude oil and petroleum products. The company was incorporated in 1990 and is based in Singapore. SK energy international operates as a subsidiary of SK trading international.

The Finance / Senior Finance Executive will be a member of Treasury Group in Singapore, reporting to the Group Leader, CPBDO – SKEI Biz Support – Treasury Group and supporting our commodities trading business. Requirements and Roles include:

  • Minimum 3 years of finance experience, preferably within a commodity trading business.
  • Minimum 3 years of handling shipping INCO terms, UCP and ISP.
  • Must have import/export LC/SBLC experience.
  • Liaise with suppliers on Import LC and SBLC formats, negotiating terms in line with contract agreements and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with banks to ensure timely issuance of Import LC and SBLC.
  • Monitor schedule closely to ensure timely receipt of Export LCs from buyers.
  • Negotiate terms according to contract agreements and ensure that Export LCs are in order.
  • Liaise with banks, business teams, legal and back-office support to coordinate all trade finance activities and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Maintain and update trade finance records and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Prepare daily payments using an in-house system and keeping track of all incoming funds.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Stay updated with the latest trade finance products, market trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Take on ad hoc finance-related projects as required.
  • Participate in job rotation within the finance team to support cross-functional skills and business continuity.

  • Minimum 3 years of finance experience, preferably within a commodity trading business.

  • Minimum Diploma in Finance/Business Admin or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP/THOR is an added advantage.

  • Highly motivated and organized individual who exhibit strong integrity, work ethics and ability to perform under pressure.
