The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial transactions of the Company’s (Reinsurance Broking) business in accordance with the regulations, law and standards of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (and regulations at Home Office).
The role will provide high-level services and support to the Accounting Team at Home Office and control the Company’s local and regular transactions, supporting the Chief Financial Officer at Home Office. Additional reporting line shall be to the Chief Executive Officer at the local Singapore Branch Office.
Only interested parties have within the (re)insurance industry will be prioritized.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform accounting functions (managing accounts payables and/ or receivables and bank reconciliation)
- Coordinate with Clients on adjustments or otherwise
- Work within accounting team and ensure they are kept updated of issues and developing situations are escalated if necessary
- Responsible for creating and providing Accounting and Management Reports on weekly basis and/ or spreadsheet analysis as required (management accounts, audited financial statements, budgets, PIB returns, GST filings and Board Dashboards
- Primarily responsible for collection of premiums from all clients
- Ensure problems with collections are escalated to management’s attention, in order to meet clients and reinsurers expectations, are properly managed
- Adhere to standard internal policies and procedures including regulatory requirement and standards
- Implementing internal controls (approving invoices, handling collections on invoices, coordinating with financial auditors and internal auditors, and maintaining supporting company records)
- Verify and validate all financial transactions are processed in timely manner, accordance with Company policy, procedures and international financial reporting standards
- Ensuring timely audit confirmations for finalization of accounts
- Ensure appropriate filing of necessary documents, ensuring an effective audit trail
- Financial reconciliation with all partners, clients, insurers, reinsurers and other brokers
- Preparation of all the fiscal activities of the organization including budgeting, reporting and audit
- Experience in MAS Reporting requirements is required
- To head the Human Resources Department within a small set-up, Head Compliance and other office administrative matters
- Should be a graduate in Finance and at least 5-6 years of experience with Insurance/ Reinsurance/ Broking companies in Singapore, will be an added advantage.
- Regional language skills aside from English, will be preferred.
- MS Office skills, especially Excels and use of Pivot Tables
