A leading consulting firm is seeking a Finance Manager for the energy sector. We are seeking a commercially astute Finance Manager (Energy sector) to lead our client's finance function with a focus on strategic planning, operational control, and team development. This role will serve as a critical business partner across various departments, ensuring informed decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a lean team, improving financial processes, and driving performance across multiple facets of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Oversight
· Lead the financial planning calendar, including mid-year forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-term financial projections.
· Collaborate closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
· Review and validate business cases for capital investments and cost optimization projects.
Management Reporting & Business Performance
· Consolidate and analyse monthly financial performance across business units.
· Identify key performance drivers and support operational teams with relevant financial insights.
· Ensure accuracy and compliance in all statutory reporting, tax filings, and audit preparations.
Leadership & Team Development
· Supervise the finance team, guiding day-to-day tasks while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Lead capability building efforts across the finance function, including training and succession planning.
· Provide mentorship and serve as a point of escalation for complex accounting or operational matters.
Process & System Enhancements
· Champion automation and digital tools that drive efficiency and reduce manual workload.
· Improve financial systems utilization (e.g., Oracle, Vena, or similar platforms), ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
· Lead process improvements across accounts payable, receivables, and financial reporting workflows.
Qualifications & Atibutes
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA / CA or other relevant certifications are preferred.
· Minimum of 8–12 years' progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial capacity.
· Strong foundation in financial modelling, reporting tools, and business analytics.
· Track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
· Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
· Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a lean structure.
