Job Description and Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will be part of the COE ATR team, responsible for the accounting and finance operations of Visa's corporate activities. This role reports to a Director and manages general accounting and corporate services accounting activities for North America.

  1. Manage and mentor a team of two or more accounting professionals.
  2. Oversee general accounting and Corporate Services accounting activities for North America.
  3. Review US GAAP consolidated financial statements, flux analysis for North America and global consolidated income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, and stockholders' equity to ensure timely reconciliation and analysis.
  4. Act as finance liaison to key business stakeholders, ensuring smooth pre-close activities and providing operational support such as reviewing purchase orders and ensuring proper receiving and accruals.
  5. Train and review Balance Sheet reconciliation processes in Blackline.
  6. Train the team on manual journal entries and drive efficiency to reduce manual entries.
  7. Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  8. Conduct analytical reviews and research on technical and operational accounting issues.
  9. Collaborate with other Visa Finance functions and participate in process improvements and system optimizations.
  10. Assist in scaling accounting infrastructure and standardizing processes globally.
  11. Mentor and guide the accounting team, fostering continuous learning and improvement.

This position is open to locations in Bangalore, India, and is a hybrid role with days in office to be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2+ years with a PhD.
  • CPA or equivalent with progressive professional accounting experience, preferably in a publicly traded company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong accounting, quantitative, and analytical skills with ability to apply U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with consolidation and intercompany accounting is a plus.
  • Proven team management skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to build teams, work collaboratively, and manage change.
  • Attention to detail, organized, and committed to process improvement.
  • Proficient in Oracle or similar ERP systems and Excel.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with increasing responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work smarter through process improvements.
