Job summary

Wise in Singapore is seeking a Finance Manager (Associate Controller, APAC 12-month FTC) to lead regional financial oversight and controls across Asia. You will drive regulatory reporting, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Risk and Product while shaping scalable finance processes.

The role requires IFRS/US GAAP expertise, strong data analysis, and a proactive, independent mindset to deliver accurate reporting on time in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in financial control, audit, financial reporting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience owning or supporting financial reporting, statutory audits or regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and communicating complex financial topics clearly.
• Self-starter mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Understanding of how accounting, tax and regulatory requirements affect financial operations and controls.
• Automation mindset, with an interest in eliminating manual work through technology (SQL, Python a plus).

Responsibilities

• Own financial oversight of Asia legal entities and monitor financial controls.
• Lead regulatory and financial reporting, coordinating submissions and ad-hoc reporting.
• Monitor regulatory capital requirements and maintain capital adequacy.
• Lead finance and statutory audits for assigned entities with regulatory examinations.
• Partner with Finance, Banking, Compliance, Risk, Legal and Product to meet regional requirements.
• Drive improvements to finance processes and controls; pursue standardisation and automation.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support Regional Finance initiatives as Wise scales across Asia.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Finance Manager, (Associate Controller, APAC 12-month FTC)to join our Regional Finance team in Singapore.

You’ll play a key role in strengthening our Regional finance capabilities, overseeing financial performance and controls across Asia legal entities, and ensuring we meet local accounting, regulatory and tax requirements.

This is a highly cross-functional role with significant ownership, working closely with Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Compliance, Legal and other Finance teams.

What You’ll Do

• Own financial oversight of Asia legal entities, including analysis of financial performance and monitoring of financial, capital and liquidity controls.
• Lead regulatory and financial reporting, coordinating monthly, quarterly and annual submissions and supporting ad-hoc reporting requirements.
• Monitor regulatory capital requirements and ensure entities remain appropriately capitalised.
• Lead finance and statutory audits for assigned entities, including coordinating financial information for regulatory examinations and Group audits.
• Partner across Finance, Banking, Compliance, Risk, Legal and Product to ensure reporting, systems, controls and processes meet regional requirements.
• Drive improvements to finance processes and controls, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate reporting.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support Regional Finance initiatives and evolving business requirements as Wise continues to scale across Asia.

Qualifications

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• 6+ years of relevant experience in financial control, audit, financial reporting, management accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience owning or supporting financial reporting, statutory audits or regulatory requirements.
• Strong financial analysis skills and confidence working with large and complex datasets.
• Experience partnering with senior internal and external stakeholders and communicating complex financial topics clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
• A self-starter mindset – comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and working independently in a fast-moving environment.
• An understanding of how accounting, tax and regulatory requirements affect financial operations and controls.
• A automation mindset, with an interest in eliminating manual work and improving finance processes through technology. Experience with SQL, Python or similar tools is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and other teams internationally.
