What a "Finance Manager" means to us and how you can help us

  • Working closely with the CFO, oversee the financial management, accounting and reporting of the Group, including implementation of finance frameworks, policies and processes in accordance with local/international accounting standards
  • Performs timely month-end close and submission of management reports
  • Manage and monitor departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources
  • Address forecast deviations and potential financial challenges (e.g. cash flows, debt levels, etc.)
  • Ensure corporate directives on limits of authority, budgeted costs and cost control initiatives are implemented and adhered to
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial reports and analyses to key stakeholders for decision making, with recommendations on accounting treatment
  • Monitor and provide analysis on monthly performance based on various data sources to derive a consistent picture of current performance, key issues, and action items
  • Drive continuous improvements in accounting, reporting and internal control processes/systems to improve value given to stakeholders
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives to streamline Business Unit controlling processes/reporting and improve efficiencies through a better utilization of automated systems
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual returns to MAS
  • Responsible for annual tax filing, semi-annual tax computations, managing and liaison with the tax agents on tax- related matters
  • Working with the external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits across the group
  • Establish a good relationship with external parties such as external auditor, tax agents and bankers
  • Ad hoc corporate secretarial tasks
  • Drive consistency of analytics and reporting
  • Building, training and developing the finance team;
  • Propagating our purpose, mission, vision and values

Requirements

What we consider relevant qualifications, experience and knowledge

  • Minimum 6-8 years of proven experience, of which a minimum of 2 years in a senior finance role;
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area and/or CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion);
  • Strong knowledge of MAS and IRAS (Tax) reporting;
  • Passionate about joining an early stage fintech, comfortable with ambiguity and have a ‘roll up your sleeves' attitude;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, rapidly changing technology-driven environment, influence and challenge as required;
  • Superior time management and very organised with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Fluent English speaker and writer, other Asian language skills will be an advantage
  • Experience from a Big 4 accounting firm will be highly regarded;
  • Experience in payments and fintech industry will be highly regarded;
  • Proficiency in Netsuites will be an advantage
