Job description

The Position:

This is a rare opportunity to lead the finance function for a prominent international school in Singapore. Reporting directly to the Head of School, you will be the sole finance professional, overseeing both daily accounting operations and strategic financial planning. Your insights will support senior management in making informed decisions that drive growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including review of accounts, financial statements and transactions

• Prepare budgets, rolling forecasts and cash flow projections

• Develop financial models to support school planning and scenario simulations in Excel

• Advise the leadership team on financial strategy, internal controls, and risk

• Provide analysis on financial performance and develop presentations for board meetings

• Maintain regulatory and compliance standards specific to educational institutions and liaise with auditors and regulators

Skills & Experience:

You will be a Chartered Accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with at least 10 years’ experience and solid expertise in both financial accounting and FP&A. Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling / projections, are essential. Experience in the education sector (particularly international schools) is advantageous but not a pre-requisite. This role will suit a mature, independent professional who is comfortable acting as the go-to finance expert on campus. A hands-on, pragmatic approach is required, together with strong organisational skills and the ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders.
