Reporting to the Board of Directors, Group President / CEO and Group Executive Vice-President, the Finance Manager will manage the full financial and management accounting functions of our group of companies.
The Roles
- Lead a Finance Team by providing proper guidance, training, and monitoring.
- Oversee all financial accounting, reporting, and financial operations, including developing accounting policies for the group, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts, consolidation account, and managing the annual audit process.
- Perform financial information analysis and provide reporting and analysis to senior management using data analytical tools.
- Manage cash flow and treasury planning to optimize working capital, reviewing AR, AP, and inventory management and implementing action plans.
- Assist in annual budget/reforecast development, enforce budget control through SAP/authority limit, and perform monthly variance analysis.
- Participate in SAP implementation, enhancement, and customization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements such as Accounting Standards, Income Tax Act, GST/VAT Act, Company Act, and internal controls like SOP and authority limits.
- Manage tax strategies, including tax research, coordination with tax advisors, and review GST/VAT reporting, including transfer pricing issues.
- Prepare and present reports for monthly finance meetings and annual performance reviews for senior management.
- Support top management and business units in achieving sales targets, reducing costs, and streamlining processes with a Kaizen mindset to improve productivity.
- Involved in internal restructuring, capital management, property disposal, new business initiatives, and business model development.
- Maintain good relationships with bankers to negotiate funding costs, bank charges, and terms, and provide financial information for annual reviews.
- Coordinate with Singapore government agencies for grant applications and claims.
- Ensure compliance with Free Trade Agreements.
- Oversee risk management, including credit, forex, and interest risks, and review commercial contracts and letters of credit to protect company interests.
- Participate in top management strategy formulation, including pricing, inventory management, joint ventures, production planning, financial modeling, and cost restructuring.
- Serve as a contact point for cross-departmental activities and initiatives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by CFO/Director/CEO.
The Person
- A CPA with at least 10 years of relevant regional experience.
- Ability to work as a business partner with cross-functional teams.
- Business savvy with strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills in both English and Mandarin (written and oral) for interactions in China.
- Proficient in computer skills; experience with SAP HANA is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel moderately to China.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment across multiple countries and matrix reporting structures.
