Finance Lead – Build Finance from First Principles in a Scaling Deep-Tech Business

Our client is a technology company advancing next-generation hardware systems for compute-intensive applications. Backed by institutional investors and having recently completed a significant funding round, we are entering a new phase of operational scale. We're now hiring a Finance Lead to establish and run the finance function end-to-end.

The ideal candidate brings finance experience from the semiconductor, embedded systems, or chip design sectors, and is ready to step into a high-ownership role with both strategic and operational scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO on board reporting, investor engagement, and financial strategy
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, 3-statement modeling, and scenario planning
  • Own monthly closing, statutory reporting, and internal controls
  • Set up and manage compliance, audit preparation, and grant reporting (e.g., EnterpriseSG, R&D incentives)
  • Support department leads on budget management, cost allocation, and financial decision-making
  • Manage a lean team; build and scale the finance team in line with company growth

Key requirements

  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English to liaise with internal stakeholders and regional partners
  • 10–15 years of finance experience in semiconductors, silicon design, embedded systems, or adjacent high-tech manufacturing sectors
  • Strong technical grounding in FP&A, cashflow forecasting, financial controls, and audit readiness
  • Experience working in R&D-heavy, grant-reliant businesses with complex cost structures
  • Solid understanding of Singapore government grants, subsidies, and incentive frameworks
  • Operates well in lean, fast-paced environments with limited structure and evolving needs
