Job summary

A recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a Finance Leader to oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 5–7 years of experience in financial leadership roles and must be skilled in financial systems such as SAP and Excel. This role requires excellent analytical and communication abilities to manage a team effectively and engage with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and charity sector compliance preferred.

Responsibilities



  1. Financial Leadership & Stewardship



    • Lead the full spectrum of finance functions — accounting, budgeting, cash flow, reserves, financial reporting, and audit.

    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, grantor requirements, and internal controls.

    • Safeguard organisational assets through sound risk management and policy development.




  2. Budgeting & Planning



    • Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads.

    • Monitor performance, analyse variances, and provide actionable recommendations.

    • Advise leadership on funding scenarios, cost efficiency, and resource allocation.




  3. Reporting & Board Engagement



    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

    • Present financial results and key metrics to the Board and Finance Committee, translating complex data into clear insights.

    • Support strategic decisions with scenario modelling and trend analysis.




  4. Team Leadership



    • Manage and mentor a team of two finance staff.

    • Build capacity, streamline processes, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.




  5. External Stakeholder Management



    • Liaise with external auditors, government agencies, donors, and grant administrators.

    • Ensure timely submission of audited accounts, grant reports, and compliance documents.





Qualifications & Experience


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with supervisory experience

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and charity sector compliance preferred

  • Proficient in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Xero, Navision) and advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a mission-driven environment
