Job description

Singapore Aquatics (SAQ) is the governing body for aquatic sports including swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming and open water swimming in Singapore. As a leading National Sports Association, we invite passionate and capable applicants who can contribute to our cause in the following position:

1) FINANCE EXECUTIVE

A. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

Report to the Assistant Finance Manager with regard to the Association’s purchases and payables cycle and accounting functions

B JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist the Assistant Finance Manager in accounting duties which includes:

· To support the monthly accounts closing;

· Preparation of bank reconciliations;

· Assist in handling day to day accounting functions;

· Managing and processing the Association’s purchasing and payable’s function, including:

- Verifying invoices are supported with proper documentation

- Preparing payment vouchers (Giro/TT/cheques)

- Preparation of cheques if necessary

- Ensuring compliance with the Association’s policies and procedures

· Posting of transactions in the accounting system;

· Assist in monitoring expenditure of SAQ event budgets and liaising with relevant teams on expenditures for post-event SOAs;

· Monitoring and tracking of the Association’s value in-kind inventories;

· Assist in the annual statutory audit;

· Assist in any internal or compliance audits, or grant audits;

· Ensure accounting is carried out in proper way in accordance to financial regulations and accounting standards;

· Ensure expense claims are in accordance with SSA’s HR policies;

· Assist in any ad hoc accounting and administrative assignments;

· Any other adhoc duties as may be assigned.

C JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS

1 Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Accountancy or Business Administration, or relevant qualifications.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Sports industry, Charities or Grant Accounting is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with Oracle Netsuite is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office especially in Excel and work with strong IT skills.

  • Ability to start at short notice is preferred or immediate.
