Job Title: Finance Executive (Wood Carpentry Factory)

Job Scope:
The Finance Executive is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the carpentry factory, including accounts receivable/payable, invoice processing, cost tracking, payroll support, and preparation of financial reports. The role supports compliance with statutory and tax requirements, assists in budgeting, and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process supplier invoices and prepare payment vouchers.
Monitor payment due dates and ensure timely settlement to avoid delays or penalties.
Issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments from clients.
2. Bookkeeping & Data Entry
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records (e.g., general ledger, journal entries).
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash accounting.
Input transactions into accounting software and ensure all entries are properly coded.
3. Costing & Budget Tracking
Track project and production costs (materials, labour, subcontractors).
Prepare monthly reports on job costings and highlight variances against budgets.
Support management with profitability analysis and cost-control recommendations.
4. Payroll Support
Collect and compile monthly attendance and overtime data from admin/HR.
Assist in payroll calculation, CPF contributions, and statutory submissions (IR8A, etc.).
Prepare salary reports and maintain confidentiality of employee financial records.
5. Financial Reporting
Assist in preparing monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax agents.
Ensure proper documentation and filing for GST returns, tax filings, and statutory reports.
6. Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure financial records comply with ACRA, IRAS, and company policies.
Monitor compliance with GST, Withholding Tax, and corporate income tax regulations.
Support implementation of financial controls and identify any discrepancies.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
Familiar with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or ERP systems).
Good knowledge of Singapore GST, CPF, and tax regulations.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
Able to work independently and handle confidential financial data with integrity.
Working Conditions:
Office-based within the factory premises.
Standard working hours; may require occasional OT during closing or audit periods.
Reports to Finance Manager or Director, with frequent coordination with admin, operations, and procurement teams.
