Job description

Join our Finance team and play a key role in managing accounts receivables, fixed assets, GST reporting, and procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivables

  • Manage the full spectrum of Accounts Receivables, including all modes of collections - cash, cheque, electronic and GIRO collections and ensure timely and accurate recognition of revenue.
  • Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes, receipts, and perform counter collections.
  • Track collections, resolve overdue fees, and monitor AR aging.
  • Process GIRO collections and Edusave deductions via iBens for enrichment programmes.
  • Issue tax-deductible receipts (TDRs) for ECF-approved donations via TEDAS.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with financial SOPs and internal controls.

Fixed Assets Management

  • Review and oversee accounting transactions for fixed assets acquisition, disposals and capital / deferred grants
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records, including tagging and depreciation.
  • Track physical asset movement and perform annual fixed assets count.
  • Manage journal entries related to capital grants and deferred capital accounts.

GST Reporting

  • Prepare accurate and timely quarterly GST submissions to IRAS.
  • Ensure accurate tax coding of AP transactions.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits related to GST reporting and regulatory compliance.

Fund Raising and Grants Administration

  • Administer and monitor MOE grants, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance with usage conditions and reporting requirements.
  • Review student-led VIA fundraising projects for alignment with ECF guidelines and provide financial oversight.

Procurement Support

  • Assist with day-to-day procurement operations and ensure compliance with IM Procurement guidelines.
  • Review procurement policies and processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through economies of scale.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Relevant experience in AR or fixed assets management preferred
  • Hand-on experience with SAP Business One accounting system would be advantageous
