Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Executive to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance and audit processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly detail-oriented and exceptionally well-organized.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
  • Independently manage full sets of accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Property, Plant & Equipment (PPE), accruals, and other financial records

  • Perform system postings and finance duties such as accounts payable processing, month-end closing, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed asset updates

  • Record and analyze revenue streams from licensing software.

  • Prepare payment vouchers and oversee both digital and physical filing of supporting documents for payment processing via corporate banking platforms

  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules, including accruals and prepayments

  • Monitor and document investment returns to ensure accurate financial tracking

  • To temporarily cover urgent license verification responsibilities.

Compliance and audit
  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns and payments in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and liaise with tax agents for annual tax submissions

  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and internal financial policy

Royalty payments and distribution
  • Process royalty payments to members, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Circulate detailed distribution statements to members

  • Prepare and submit withholding tax documentation related to royalty disbursements

Systems and Process Improvement
  • Utilize Sage accounting software for financial tracking and reporting

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve operational efficiency

  • Participate in system testing and finance related projects

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, ACCA, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in a non-profit organization is advantageous but not essential

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Familiarity with sound internal control practices and financial compliance standards

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative and professional demeanor

  • Self-driven, curious, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement
