Job description

The Finance Director, Heart-Recovery, Asia-Pacific will be instrumental in supporting Johnson & Johnson’s growth within the diverse and expanding healthcare landscape of the region. This leadership role requires an agile, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of regional healthcare markets, regulatory environments, and go-to-market strategies for new markets such as China. This senior finance leader will work closely with the head of the Heart Recovery business in Asia-Pacific and support a business with FY sales of ~$100M and assume responsibility for a current team of ~8 finance professionals.

The role is focused on driving business performance, offering thought leadership, and applying analytical frameworks to enhance the financial performance of the business. As a people leader, you will be responsible for talent development, organizational design and hiring, coaching, and fostering a culture of impact and accountability. Success in this role requires a high level of integrity, strategic leadership, effective communication, sound business acumen, and a demonstrated track record in developing talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, aligning with the global Heart Recovery strategy and local market requirements.
  • Partner with senior management to provide financial insights and guidance.
  • Support go-to-market strategies for markets including financial considerations, local compliance, reimbursement policies, and healthcare provider engagement.
  • Provide financial insights to optimize market entry, product launch strategies, and growth initiatives in a complex regulatory landscape.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, regional financial standards, and Johnson & Johnson's internal policies.
  • Oversee regional financial reporting, audit processes, and internal controls, with attention to local compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to drive pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor regional finance teams to foster a high-performance culture rooted in compliance and strategic agility.
  • Help drive Asia Pacific finance initiatives within the cluster.
  • Manage P&L, Balance Sheet, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Help identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability
  • Review and approve pricing ladders and new business opportunities
  • Drive financial analysis and ensure robustness of business cases for pre-launch prioritization, and post launch assessment
  • Lead Strategic Planning for the Asia-Pacific region leveraging insights from macroeconomics/ Reimbursement / competitor analysis and by providing clarity on source of growth, innovation pipeline sufficiency and resource needs
  • Lead Business Planning cycles including JU, NU and BP
  • Deliver Key Country Financial Metrics
  • Drive analysis to enable better solutions, prudent risk management and delivery of sustainable results

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

  • Strong finance expertise with professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, CA, and/or an MBA.
  • Experience managing finance and go-to-market strategies across multiple Asian countries.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, reimbursement systems, and regulatory compliance in the region
  • Proven track record in supporting successful market entry strategies and navigating local cultural and business practices
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for senior leadership.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills and high IT literacy.
  • Experience in a multinational company
  • A high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a demonstrated commitment to building a long-term career with Johnson & Johnson, within or beyond finance
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese, Mandarin, or other regional languages is advantageous.
