Job description

As a Regional Financial Controller, your primary responsibility is to lead comprehensive financial analysis across the region, offering key insights to improve business performance. You will gather relevant data, develop actionable solutions, and deliver reports that help guide decision-making. This includes conducting profitability and feasibility analyses, supporting data visualization, and challenging assumptions throughout the decision-making process.

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Finance Leadership:

  • Oversee regional accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Manage month-end closing processes for both the holding company and subsidiaries, ensuring completion by the 15th of the following month.
  • Review revenue and expenses to ensure proper accruals and bookings.
  • Analyze revenue, cost of goods sold, and margins to ensure accuracy and alignment with forecasts.
  • Identify and explain variances between actual and budgeted financials.
  • Actively manage cash flows to mitigate financial risk, ensuring proper allocation of working capital across subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and validate monthly revenue and expense forecasts for a 12-month rolling period.
  • Facilitate bi-monthly or quarterly P&L and budget meetings with country heads and senior management.
  • Stay current with local and regional tax regulations and suggest cost-saving opportunities.

Management & Operations Support:

  • Provide financial analysis to support operational decisions, recommending the most effective solutions for the business.
  • Identify synergies across business units and develop integrated business models.
  • Regularly update the management team with financial reports and key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
  • Prepare monthly analysis reports, offering recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Monitor and develop business performance metrics using tools like MS Power BI, Tableau, or Spotlight Reporting.
  • Stay informed on technological advancements and processes to automate and improve financial systems.
  • Implement resource management tools to optimize resource allocation and utilization.
  • Advise on financial strategies related to business expansion and fundraising efforts.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Business, Finance, or an MBA.
  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to turn data into business insights.
  • Proficiency with ERP and CRM software systems.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach to work.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate to find effective solutions.
  • Experience in preparing detailed financial reports and delivering presentations.
  • Proven track record of executing and following through on initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Experience leading successful projects and initiatives.
