Role purpose
To support the Control Risks SEA Team by providing exceptional finance and operational support to local stakeholders and ensuring smooth operations between SEA, Group Finance, and the Shared Service Centre.
Role tasks and responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Shared Service Centre team, ensure accuracy of month-end results (P&L and Balance Sheet).
- Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliation items, ensuring all balances are reconciled and substantiated.
- Help drive improvement in the cash collection process within SEA, in collaboration with the Shared Service Centre team.
- Ensure SEA alignment on policies' application and conduct of processes to drive transparency, reliability, and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners such as banking, audit, and tax advisory, with support from the Financial Controller.
- Provide oversight, support, and advice on local and Group audits and investigations, ensuring swift actions.
- Build effective communication channels with local tax authorities to understand requirements and respond to requests.
- Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect taxes, including timely and accurate completion of all tax returns and submissions (GST, corporate tax, etc.).
- Complete and submit annual trade surveys commissioned by local authorities.
- Track and prepare for upcoming changes in financial compliance driven by local laws and Group guidance.
- Understand and respond to business needs while remaining independent, objective, and ethical.
- Support Regional Commercial Finance Business Partner and Regional Financial Controller on regional and global initiatives.
- Act as backup for invoicing activities, if needed.
- Support and suggest improvements in processes as the Finance function transitions to a Shared Service Centre.
- Perform other ad-hoc activities as required by the business or function.
Knowledge and experience
- Experience in a fast-paced and complex business environment.
- An engaging, approachable, self-motivated, and hands-on individual.
- Ability to solve problems innovatively and implement ideas quickly.
- Prior experience in audit or professional services is a plus but not necessary.
Qualifications and specialist skills
- Degree qualified, preferably CPA.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy in planning and organizing work.
- Effective time and resource management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations is a plus but not necessary.
