A leading semiconductor technology company is seeking a Field Support Engineer/System Engineer to support hardware and process applications at customer sites. This role involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, alongside training customers on operational processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, relevant experience in wafer fab equipment, particularly Etch equipment, and be willing to travel internationally.
Job Purpose
The Field Support Engineer/System Engineer is a new hybrid role that supports both Hardware and Process Applications for semiconductor equipment. The engineer shall install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites. He shall also configure process recipes and perform system tests to ensure final commissioning for full operational readiness. The System Engineer shall collaborate cross-functionally internally to support the needs of the customer.
Principal Accountabilities
Installation
Conduct pre-installation assessments and perform system commissioning
Install and configure equipment, including hardware, software, and process recipes
Train customers on system operation, process control, and preventive maintenance
Provide on-site and post-installation customer support post installation, including and not limited to:
Respond to fab-related issues and ensure process stability
Troubleshoot technical issues, including diagnosing at the component level
Participate in customer meetings and manage escalations
Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues or escalate as necessary,
Analyze performance data to identify improvements and resolve issues
Enhance procedures and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
Lead key projects and manage critical customer accounts
Any other ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned by Manager
Education & Experience
Min. Degree in Engineering or related field
A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in maintaining wafer fab equipment, preferably with at least 2 years of experience specifically with Etch equipment
Essential Attributes
Must be willing and able to travel, both between regions and internationally. No visa issue travelling to any Schengen countries for business a must.
Flexibility to work on shift/ overtime/ stand-by/ on-call/ holidays when required
Demonstrated qualities of being pro-active, self-driven to complete tasks independently and on time, possess critical mindset to learn with high level of process analytical ability in fast-pace environment
Able to work with the team to achieve Department and Company Goals
Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred. Mandarin speaking ability is preferred to communicate with Chinese counterparts.
