This role is responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and business-aligned technology services across assigned sites. It serves as the primary local IT representative, ensuring excellent user experience, operational continuity, and successful execution of technology initiatives. It will work closely with global support teams, Infrastructure, Security, Enterprise Services, Operational Technology (OT), Labs IT and third-party vendors to ensure seamless delivery of technology services.
While the primary focus of the role is IT Site Services, the engineer may provide smart hands support and local coordination activities for Operational Technology (OT) and Laboratory IT environments in accordance with established governance, cybersecurity and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
End-User Support & Workplace Technology
- Deliver comprehensive onsite and remote troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, mobile devices (iOS/macOS/Windows), peripherals, and VIP requests.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, printing/scanning solutions, meeting room AV systems, and manage employee onboarding/offboarding workflows.
- Coordinate warranty claims, break-fix activities, and vendor repairs while maintaining spare device and loaner equipment inventories.
Site Infrastructure Support
- Provide local support for site infrastructure services, network closets, communication rooms, and business continuity initiatives.
- Perform smart hands activities for network, server, telephony, and security teams, including structured cabling and equipment deployments.
- Coordinate infrastructure installations, upgrades, maintenance, and technology relocations with minimal disruption.
Asset & Lifecycle Management
- Manage end-user device provisioning, deployment, refresh cycles, and retirement processes.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, configuration records, and ensure corporate security compliance.
- Support asset audits, lifecycle governance activities, and coordinate secure hardware disposal in line with company policies.
Site Projects & Technology Deployments
- Execute site-based technology projects, office expansions, and workplace technology rollouts.
- Coordinate site readiness, local implementation activities, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure changes.
- Participate in testing, deployment, and user communication to ensure seamless adoption with minimal downtime.
- Coordinate onsite activities performed by suppliers and technology vendors while monitoring service delivery quality.
- Partner with Facilities, GREW, Quality, Manufacturing, and business teams to support daily site operations.
- Build strong working relationships with site stakeholders and represent IT in local governance meetings and business engagements.
OT & Laboratory IT Smart Hands Support
- Provide onsite smart hands support for OT and Laboratory IT teams, including physical device installation, replacement, and verification.
- Validate network connectivity, coordinate vendor access, provide site escorts, and support deployments under specialist direction.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while escalating specialized issues to technical teams. (Note: The role provides local coordination and smart hands, not system ownership).
Continuous Improvement & Service Excellence
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and service improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Participate in problem management, root cause analysis, and operational reviews.
- Maintain accurate knowledge articles, operational procedures, site documentation, and service reports.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT Support, Site Services or Infrastructure Support roles.
- Experience in supporting office, manufacturing, laboratory or logistics environments.
- Experience in working with vendors and cross-functional technology teams.
- Experience in participating in IT projects, deployments and site technology changes.
- Experience or knowledge in the following technical domains will be an advantage: Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 Services, Intune and Endpoint Management, iOS device support and troubleshooting, Mobile Device Management (MDM) fundamentals, Device provisioning and lifecycle management, Networking fundamentals (LAN, Wi-Fi, switching), Meeting room and AV technologies, Printing and scanning solutions, IT asset management, IT Service Management (incident, request, change), Basic infrastructure and server room operations, Basic understanding of OT and Laboratory technology environments
- Good command in written and spoken English;
- Able to communicate in Mandarin will be an advantage.
