Job summary

A leading recruitment company is seeking a Field Service Engineer/PLC Engineer for a permanent role based in Kallang. Your responsibilities include installing equipment, troubleshooting, and maintaining good customer relations. Candidates should possess an Electrical Engineering degree and ideally have hands-on PLC programming experience along with familiarity with industrial protocols.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1–3 years of relevant experience for Technician or Engineer role.
• Hands-on experience in PLC programming.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and control logic.

Responsibilities

• Install and/or relocate equipment at customers’ sites and conduct associated start-up activities.
• Perform on-site preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain service records and represent the company to the customer professionally.

Benefits Summary:

• Field Service Engineer/ PLC Engineer

• Permanent role

• Basic salary up to $ 4,000 + Standby Allowance+ AWS +VB

• Monday to Friday : Office hours

• Location: Kallang

• Control System Programming & Development

  • To install and/or relocate equipment at customers’ sites. To conduct associated start-up, cut over and check-out activities on the newly installed machines.

  • To provide warranty tool support or paid service for out of warranty tool by performing on-site preventive maintenance of equipment and attending to equipment abnormalities. To coordinate all service actions with customer to minimize downtime or system interruptions.

  • To apply troubleshooting techniques to eliminate equipment malfunctions. To conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problem. To assess severity of malfunctions and determine corrective actions required or escalate for assistance and prompt resolution. When necessary, replace defective units, components or parts where appropriate.

  • To implement field modifications or updates as released in Engineering Change Order which may involve removal and installation of assemblies, sub-assemblies, machines and sub-machines.

  • To prepare and maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, diagnostic update and other management reports.

  • To develop good customer relations during installation and execution of service contracts.

  • Professionally represent the company to the customer. To utilize knowledge of company’s product lines and services to keep existing or potential customers informed when new or additional needs are identified.

  • To maintain company’s assigned equipment (computer, tool kit, diagnostic test equipment, spare parts, etc.) in good working condition and ensure it is secure and accounted for.

  • To handle other tasks and duties as and when requested by superior.
    

Additional Information:

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or other related engineering field.

• Prefer 1–3 years of relevant experience for Technician or Engineer role.

• Hands-on experience in PLC programming

• Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).

• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control logic.

• Willing to travel for project-based site work

• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

• Team player with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
